Chicago - The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety is pleased to announce a formal collaboration with the National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS). The collaboration is focused on increasing professionalism in the healthcare security sector through, education, certification, standards and peer to peer support and networking.

 

“The IAHSS and NAHS collaboration is an opportunity to advance common healthcare security and safety goals across the global security sector,” said IAHSS Immediate Past-President Paul Sarnese, CHPA, CAPM, MSE, MAS. “Working together, IAHSS and NAHS will be able to deliver more value for our members, support the IAHSS strategic plan, and share best practices on an international scale.”

 

Together IAHSS and NAHS will work towards the betterment of the healthcare security sector internationally, the sharing of best professional practices, the development of sector professionals and the reduction and prevention of violence and crime.

The National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS) was formed in 1994, as a UK non profit making professional organisation. The NAHS operates in a single national network headed by the Association’s Chairman supported by a Board of Directors and a national Association Committee. The Association’s aim is to support and enable healthcare provision through the delivery of professional security management; promoting and ensuring members are best placed and equipped to provide a safe and secure environment for their organisations' staff, patients and all visitors and to act as a professional register representing the interests of healthcare security managers in the UK. Their objective being to ultimately enhance and improve staff well-being and the safety of the healthcare environment and in so-doing improve the quality of a patient’s treatment journey.
