IAHSS Industry Guidelines

 

The IAHSS Industry Guidelines are intended to assist healthcare administrators in fulfilling their obligation to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment; while carrying out the mission of their healthcare organization. The IAHSS Industry Guidelines support the need to comply with all national, state provincial, county and local requirements and are intended to be in harmony with all regulatory, accreditation, and other healthcare professional association requirements and guidelines.The Industry Guidelines are operationally focused and less prescriptive and are listed individually in this book. 

 

Design Guidelines

 

The IAHSS Design Guidelines were developed to assist security leaders, design professionals and planning staff to aid in designing security best practices into each new construction and renovation project. By addressing security risks up front and early on in the design phase organizations can cost effectively address security and safety design issues. These steps will help reduce the potential for security design issues and avoid expensive change orders, retrofits or other liabilities incurred by the omission of appropriate planning for a safe and secure environment.

Journal of Healthcare Protection Management

 

The Journal for Healthcare Protection Management is a publication developed by IAHSS and is only available to members of the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety. In it you will find relevant and pertinent researched articles pertaining to healthcare security and safety. This Journal of Healthcare Protection Management is published bi-annually in the winter and again in the summer.
 

 The Healthcare Safety Certificate Program 

 

The IAHSS Healthcare Safety Certificate Program Manual 3rd Edition is designed as an introduction to provide healthcare security professionals with basic knowledge of healthcare safety to further prepare them for the challenges they face daily.  Those who also successfully complete the IAHSS Healthcare Safety Certificate Examination will be issued a "Certificate of Completion". This e-book is also a core resource for the Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) certification.

Foundation Research

 

The IAHSS Foundation provides research materials comprised of extensive research including: surveys, researcher's personal experience, personal interviews and an extensive literature review of comparable perspectives. The IAHSS Foundation promotes and develops educational research and educational programming for the improvement of healthcare security and safety management.
