Healthcare workers are more likely to be subjected to workplace violence than any other industry. Leveraging the expertise of top subject matter experts in the field, IAHSS created a new, comprehensive, and first-of-its-kind certificate program focused on creating an effective workplace violence prevention program – with healthcare security and safety leaders at the center of all multidisciplinary efforts. The original course launched in December 2021 and has been completed by well over 1,000 healthcare professionals. A new team of top subject matter experts in the field convened in 2025 to update and modernize the content and relaunch the course with a dual focus on prevention and mitigation. The new course will be offered in December 2025 and thereafter and is open to all.
This 2-day virtual education course was developed for healthcare security leaders and any other healthcare professionals charged with leading or participating in their organization’s workplace violence prevention and mitigation efforts. It will give you the knowledge, tools and support to develop, manage, maintain and evaluate all aspects of your organization’s program, as well as the opportunity to learn from and network with others in the field.
Virtual courses are held every-other-month or as needed. Space is
limited. A waitlist will be created once the session is full. View the IAHSS
calendar to find out when the next course is being offered. Those who
completed the original course are strongly encouraged to register for and
complete the new program to refresh and enhance their knowledge.
All Attendees will receive the IAHSS Workplace Violence Prevention e-Bundle.
Attendees are encouraged to take notes during the class, the onscreen presentation will NOT be distributed to attendees.
