COVID Protocols During the IAHSS Conference

Wednesday, October 27, 2021
IAHSS is committed to maintaining a healthy atmosphere for all attendees joining us in-person in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the 53rd Annual Conference & Exhibition.

Reminder: All attendees agreed to the IAHSS Covid-19 Policy when registering:

By registering, participants agree to follow COVID-19 safety protocols throughout the IAHSS Pre-Conference, Annual Conference, Exhibition and any ancillary events. Protocols as directed by Hilton Corporation may include, but are not limited to: wearing a mask at all times (with the exception if you are actively eating or drinking), keeping a 6-foot physical distance from other attendees, and frequent hand sanitization. IAHSS reserves the right to change or modify these guidelines at any time, in accordance with CDC, state or local health justifications and/or Hilton Corporation. IAHSS reserves the right to cancel the registration for those who refuse to follow identified protocols.

In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, do not attend the in-person events if you are not feeling well; have had close contact with an individual infected with COVID-19 in the last 14 days; or are currently experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or other signs of illness.

The following safety protocols will be in place during the conference:

1. Masks are required for all attendees at all times, regardless of vaccination status, except when actively eating or drinking.

2. Complete a daily health screening prior to entering the meeting space. Each day you will be asked a few brief questions and have your temperature taken. Upon completion of the health screening, you will receive a colored wristband to verify your status for the remainder of that day. With a wristband, you will be able to enter and exit the meeting space without further screening. If you do not pass the daily health screening, you will not be allowed to enter the meeting space without proof of a negative COVID-19 test. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHE) provides the most up to date locations for COVID-19 screening and testing which can be found at the following link: SCDHE COVID-19 Testing
Daily Screening Information:
  1. Using a “no touch” or “no contact” type of device your temperate will be taken. Any temperature of 100.4 or higher is considered a fever.
  2. Are you currently experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, trouble breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or loss of smell?
  3. Have you been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
  4. Have you tested positive for COVID-19 through a diagnostic test in the past 14 days?

3. When possible, socially distanced seating will be provided.

4. Attendees may indicate their contact comfort level by placing a colored sticker on their attendee name badge. Red = No Contact, Green = Hand Shakes Welcome. We ask that attendees respect each other’s contact comfort.
