Here's what our early participants had to say:

“Course was germane and thorough. I loved it.”

Lee Cloney, CHPA, CPP, Region Director of Training and Development, Securitas

“WOW-WOW-Course in my view is a winner.”

Jim Sawyer, CHS-IV, CPP, CHPA, Director Security Services, Seattle Children's

“I liked that I was able to go back and take a little more time with the sections I didn't grasp the first time around.”

“Great material and easy to navigate.”

“It was fairly interactive with the questions it asked and utilized scenarios that we are likely to encounter or have encountered.”

How was the content developed for the IAHSS eLearning Courses?

The IAHSS Education Council selected volunteer subject matter experts (SME’s) from within the IAHSS community to provide content. The Council also selected professional instructional designers to work with IAHSS staff and lead content experts to translate the SME content into eLearning courses.

The selected group of SME’s brainstormed the unique competencies for each level (Basic, Advanced, and Supervisor) and built the structure of each course around the competencies. The SME’s and instructional designers worked together to create realistic examples and knowledge checkpoints to aid each student in learning the course material provided.

After the courses were developed, a team of Education Council members, SME’s and staff conducted an “alpha” review. After improvements and changes from that process were incorporated, the “beta” test began, which included both training coordinators and healthcare security officers from a wide range of healthcare organizations. To learn more about the eLearning development process, you can contact the IAHSS Education Council or the IAHSS  HQ staff.
