IAHSS Board Member Takes Part in NAHS Annual Conference in Birmingham, England

IAHSS Board Member and 2023 President-Elect, Eric Clay, CHPA, CPP, led a keynote at the National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS) in Birmingham, England on Nov. 3, 2022. In support of the collaborative relationship IAHSS and NAHS have developed, Clay shared best practices and fostered information sharing among healthcare security, safety and emergency management leaders across the United Kingdom. Clays’ session titled, “The Benefits of Membership in IAHSS,” also included an overview of patient-generated violence in the U.S., along with specific examples of innovative solutions that might benefit NAHS members, was delivered to 250+ leaders at the University of Birmingham. In addition to his session, Clay participated in the NAHS Annual Conference and toured the following facilities: • The University of Central London • Westminster Abbey • Royal Wolverhampton Hospital NHS Trust • Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham • Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital NHS Trust • The University of Birmingham Clay’s travel to the UK was supported by IAHSS and Critical Arc; and it supported the IAHSS strategic goal of understanding international training needs.
