FGI Releases Emergency Conditions Paper, Opens Comment Period for Draft Emergency Conditions Guidelines

All IAHSS members invited to comment by June 30, 2021

The Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) is pleased to announce the release of Guidance for Designing Health and Residential Care Facilities that Respond and Adapt to Emergency Conditions. This white paper, which includes the draft Guidelines for Emergency Conditions in Health and Residential Care Facilities, is the result of a collaboration of 130 volunteers representing multiple disciplines in health care, residential care, and facility design. Topics include: risk assessment, surge capacity, alternate care sites, modular facilities, operational considerations, resiliency, renovation and future facility design, small and/or rural health care facilities, and residential care facilities.

Background:

IAHSS has been involved in developing and commenting on FGI Guidelines for the past 3 cycles.  IAHSS continues to provide input via the IAHSS Industry and Design Guidelines, as well as IAHSS members actively participating in development of the FGI Guidelines.

If you are interested joining an IAHSS work group with the IAHSS Guidelines Committee to discuss a collaborative IAHSS response, please email Nancy at info@IAHSS.org.
