The IAHSS 2020 Annual Conference & Exhibition is proceeding as planned. We are closely monitoring developments related to COVID-19 coronavirus and will continue to do so.

We are proactively planning in conjunction with the CDC guidelines, local and state public health authorities and the US State Department/ Federal Government travel rules related to the COVID-19 virus. We are monitoring updates from the CDC and the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) which continue to indicate a low risk exposure to the virus in the United States.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey confirmed at his recent press conference that Arizona continues to be at a low risk for an outbreak and emphasized how we can work together to minimize the spread of his new virus as an Arizona community.

The CDC is currently recommending that travelers follow usual precautions including being up-to-date on all recommended vaccines, avoiding contact with sick people and clean your hands often by washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60%-95% alcohol.

Additionally, the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass has shared the following statement with IAHSS about how they are focusing on keeping their hotel and casinos safe.

"The well-being of our guests and associates is of paramount importance. We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. Our leadership team is closely monitoring the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and local health department updated regarding COVID-19 and following their recommendations on the appropriate health and safety measures. We have well-established hygiene standards and daily cleaning procedures for all parts of the hotel to address both general cleanliness and disinfection. In addition, it is our standard practice to provide ongoing guidance to our hotel teams to promote safety and well-being through awareness, training, and the use of everyday preventative practices."
