As we continue to prepare and address the potential impact and the risks of dealing with COVID-19 (coronavirus), the chance of exposure remains relatively low across the U.S. IAHSS and its Board of Directors wanted to reach out and inform our membership that we are monitoring the situation.

Our fast approaching 2020 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Phoenix, AZ, on May 4-6 is still planned to take place. Please read more about the CDC, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and our venue's statements above.

It is understood that some healthcare organizations are either limiting or cancelling domestic and international travel until further notice due to the potential risks associated with the current situation. Individual registered attendees impacted by these travel bans should contact Nancy via email at Nancy@iahss.org. IAHSS will review all requests for refund. If the request for refund is due to a travel ban, IAHSS will process a complete refund of the registration.

In the coming weeks, we will continue to communicate our membership as well as all attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors. Our successful event would not be possible without your/ their support. Everyone's collaboration in the days ahead will be critical.

This current situation our association is experiencing has taxed all of our membership as well as all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors. Our successful event would not be possible without your/their support. Everyone’s collaboration in the days ahead will be critical.

This current situation our association is experiencing has taxed all of our professional members on a daily basis.  As a professional association, we seek to understand how we can best serve our members not only yesterday and today, but in the future as well.

Rest assured, IAHSS and the Board of Directors will be sure to communicate to you in a timely manner the current state of this invaluable offering in order to be able to provide you with the information you need to plan accordingly.

Our utmost concern is your safety and security, as well as the safety and security of the facilities and persons you are tasked with caring for.

We will also continually reassess and update our decision based on the CDC website as new information becomes available:  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/summary.html

If we can be of any assistance to you in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out to our IAHSS headquarters staff, any member of the Board of Directors or me personally.  Take care and stay safe.

Respectfully,

Roy Williams III, MBA, CHPA
President, IAHSS
