2024 Preconference: HC TASER Instructor Course presented by AXON; In-Person Only	4/28/2024	4/28/2024	8:00 AM	4:00 PM	4/28/2024 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Presenter: Ralph Cummings, PCI, CFA, INCI TASER X26P, X2 and the new TASER 7 Healthcare Instructor certification course With the release of Version 22, we have reformatted the Instructor course to teach students how to develop and safely execute scenarios and isolation drills, provide more in-depth scenario training, and Virtual Reality training. During this training specifically for Healthcare, students will learn how to develop and safely implement Healthcare scenarios, Isolation drills and conduct teach backs to hone their Instructor skills. You will be certified to instruct others on the use of one or more of the X26P, X2 and TASER 7 devices. The online portion is a prerequisite to attend the ONE Day in-classroom training. (All Students attend just one day). Instructor certification is valid for 2 years from the date certified. After that date, you are not to conduct user certifications or courses of any type unless you have successfully completed a Healthcare TASER Instructor Recertification Course. What to bring: Dress is casual. Bring your department-issued TASER holster (if applicable). Holsters will be available for those who need them. Please bring your duty belt with NO firearms, ammunition, or weapons of any kind. Reminder: The online portion of this course is required to be completed before the training date. Can I attend a course if my agency has not purchased any TASERs? Yes. You are welcome to attend the Instructor course before your agency has purchased products. Leveraging the expertise of top subject matter experts in the field, IAHSS has created a new, comprehensive, and first-of-its-kind certificate program focused on creating an effective workplace violence prevention program – with healthcare security and safety leaders at the center of all multidisciplinary efforts. This seminar was developed for healthcare security leaders. It will give you the knowledge, tools and support to develop, manage, maintain and evaluate your workplace violence prevention program. The perpetrator then fled from the ICU and was loose on campus for nearly an hour before being apprehended. This session details the incident, the initial response from hospital security, police and fire, and provides important lessons learned from the incident.

This requires determining which threats are likely to manifest in physical acts, and when organizations have a responsibility to respond. Acting against perpetrators can be extremely precarious while obtaining legal remedies can be illusive.
