Based on his co-authored book, Patents Come Second - leading change by changing how you lead which has become a New York Times, USA Today and WSJ Best Seller, Britt's presentation will discuss how your leadership strategy impacts your outcomes, and if you can take care of your employees first, they will in turn take care of your patients. He will cover 10 key points, with examples and humorous stories that will inspire folks to lead differently.

Dr. Berrett is the program director of the undergraduate Healthcare Management Program at the University of Texas at Dallas in the Jindal School of Management. He lectures nationally and internationally on transformational leadership, organizational change and performance.

Keiron McConnell, PhD

Through an exploration of his research in Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Toronto, and Hobbema, Dr. McConnell will demonstrate that while many of us believe we know what gang members look like, it can only be through a localized lens that we can be confident that we understand the threats to our facilities. How do we learn about our local gang population?

Dr. McConnell is a Sergeant with the Vancouver (Canada) Police Organized Crime Section. He has over 28 years of police experience, half of which is solely in gang enforcement. In 2014 he was awarded the Frederick Thrasher Award for Excellence in Gang Scholarship, Leadership and Enforcement from the National Gang Crime Centre in Chicago.
