IAHSS Foundation Recognizes Outstanding Achievements in Hospital Security

 

Glendale Heights, IL – The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Foundation held their Annual Award Banquet earlier this month at the 2015 IAHSS 47th Annual Conference and Exhibition is St. Louis. Awards were presented to healthcare security professionals for their contributions to the healthcare security industry as well as to officers who acted heroically to save lives.

 

The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety is the only organization solely dedicated to professionals involved in security and safety programs at healthcare facilities. IAHSS and the IAHSS Foundation offer awards annually to healthcare security professionals and security departments who exemplify the standards of IAHSS recognizing that the overall quality of healthcare delivery is directly related to their professional services provided.

 

Steve Nibbelink, IAHSS Foundation President, acted as the master of ceremonies presenting numerous awards including:

·        Medal of Distinction: Russell Jones, PhD, CHPA, CPP, West Chester University of Pennsylvania; Rick Nelson, CHPA-L, CPP, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance; Officer Glenn Timmons, Children's Medical Center of Dallas; and Ed Stedman, CHPA

·        Medal of Valor: Officer Corina Maher, Massachusetts General Hospital; Master Security Officer Abdur Raheem Muhammad, University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill

·        Medal of Merit: Officer Kevin Cheathem, University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill; Officer Matt Oakley, Toronto Mount Sinai Hospital

·        Lindberg Bell Outstanding Facility Award: University of Texas Health Science Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center

·        Distinguished Lifeworks Medal: Russell Colling, CHPA, CPP; Lewis Schatz, CHPA-L, CPP
